Membership is open to anyone living or working in the district of West Dunbartonshire, known in Credit Union terms as the common bond.

Identification required to open an account:

Under Money Laundering Regulations members must prove their identity by supplying one of the following:
  • Passport,
  • driving licence or
  • birth certificate (if you are married and your name has changed then we would require your marriage certificate).

To verify residency we also require one of the following

  • Current council tax notification,  
  • recent gas/electricity bill
  • recent bank statement

All proof of residency must be dated within three months of joining date. If you are unable to meet the above requirements please contact the office on 0141 952 3776

Applications under the work common bond will be required to produce either a supporting letter from your employer stating that you are in permanent employment in West Dunbartonshire or a current payslip if employers address is stated. 

Dalmuir Credit Union applicants are also asked to provide at application two passport sized photographs as we issue members with an Identification Card.

We also require at least £1 to activate your shares.
